Chew toys for dogs

Are you spending a lot of money on stuffed animals at pet stores that they only tear up?
There are plenty of places to buy instead.
Any of the dollar stores have toys for $1. Target has an area where most of the items are $1 and there are usually some dog toys too.
You can also try resale shops and garage sales.

Buying Tips in Austin;
-Kids-N-Cats on Burnet Road has $.99 stuffed animals (most are used)
They were right next to HEB but moved to a different location in the same shopping center.
-The Dollar Tree on Burnet Road and North Loop.

Inexpensive and unique gifts and art at Etsy

If you haven't heard of Etsy you should check them out. It is a website where people can buy or sell their handmade and unique crafts.
Products range from clothing, accessories, jewelry and purses to art, furniture, music, toys and ceramics.
A lot of the prices are very reasonable and you'll actually have something special.
If you're looking for art to hang on your wall, I highly recommend their art section.
Great art for kids rooms as well.

Free Flowers

I don't know about you but we certainly cannot afford to buy flowers so I found a solution!
Look around your neighborhood and find beautiful trees or bushes with flowers or berries.
Ask your neighbor if he or she minds if you cut off a little now and then. This is also a great way to get to know your neighbors.
Some cuttings will last longer than others but try it out.
The photo with the white flower in it is actually fake and bought for $1. I just added the leaves from my yard. The vase is a drinking glass.
Small vases are great for in bathrooms, on your kitchen counter or on top of a stack of books.
The larger ones would look fabulous on a fireplace mantel, dining table or coffee table.
I would suggest playing with it and trying them in different locations. There are endless possibilities.
Check out these examples of cuttings in vases.
Buying Tip; find interesting vases at resale shops or garage sales for next to nothing.
